new and excited!!
Hi everyone! This is my first time here, I posted once on the main messageboard. But I am a Michigander so decided to come over here. I am having my surgery at the Barix in Ypsilanti. Hoping for the end of April or early May. Barix has all of my paperwork except the psyche evaluation which I know I did ok ( the therapist told me I did fine) but the therapist has to score my results and can't give Barix the results until she gives them to me on 3-30. And she will fax them to Barix that day. So next Thursday they will have everything. They told me they have exactly what they need for the BCBS PPO approval. So I am almost there. I can hardly wait. This feels like a dream come true to me. I am so tired of every day of my life having food and body issues. Although I guess I will always have them, but they will be so much more positive in the near future!!! I just retired and this is going to make my retirement so much more fun!! I can't wait to do some traveling, and fit comfortably in the airplane seat!! Not worrying if I will need a seatbelt extension. I am sure I will have questions along the way and think this forum is a great place for first hand information about anything!! So glad to meet you all!!!
Hi Linda:
I am in the same boat as you...but I just got my surgery date on this past Friday. It took about a week for Barix in Holland and the Barix in Ypsilanti to contact me with a date. I think that it was the worst week when it comes to nerves for me. I was so hyped about Ypsilanti calling me that I forwarded all of the calls that would come into my house to my cell phone. Even if I just had to run up to the post office or store I was not going to miss that call.
Needless to say last after a week had past, I woke up this past Friday and said "I am not going to live this way today, this is crazy and ridiculous" no more forwarding calls or staying home to wait for the phone to ring. So I got up, took my shower and started my daily routine. At about 11:00 a.m. I had a quick trip to Meijers to return an item and was going to head right back home, no other errands to run, and NO FORWARDING CALLS to my cell. After doing this ritual for a week, sure enough, the 15 freaking minutes that I left to run to the store, Barix calls to schedule my surgery...UGH!!!!!! I had to laugh, and it all worked out just fine. I am going in for my pre-op tests in a week and surgery on the 18th...I am glad that this past week is over, but I sure can relate to you and the waiting game...thanks for letting me share the story with all of you

Linda,
Welcome to the Mi board. It has been a great tool for me since finding it. They have answered so many of my questions before I even had the chance to ask some of them.
Will be looking for your future messages. I live in Owosso, so not to far away from you.
The best of luck to you on your future with the wls. We'll move on over and save you a seat on the bench.
