Hi All, I am 13 days out and just started my full liquids and vitamins 2 days ago. I am tolerating both and took in 62 gms. protein yesterday. I am so tired and have no energy. I am trying to up my activity. I even forced myself to go to the grocery store yesterday.(not alone) By the time I left my legs felt like lead weights. Is this normal? I always read where people are walking miles and I wonder if I need to do something different. Otherwise I feel good. Thanks for your help, it is always appreciated. Even when you don't know your helping! Love, Mary

Mary, Just remember you just had major surgery. Any idea what your hemoglobin was? When I had my other surgery I needed to take too naps a day and still went to bed at 10 for probably 5 weeks. Keep up the good work Jeanne

Hi Mary, It is totally normal to feel tired. I felt that way for at least the first month. I still wasn't totally up to par until I was about 6wks out. You got to remember you aren't getting a lot of food in and your body is working overtime in the healing process, so you are going to tire a lot more quickly. I remember my first shopping trip after surgery. I did it on an amigo....LOL. Everyone stares at you. Needless to say I stayed out of the stores until I could get around on my own without getting exhausted. Pretty soon you will be a bundle of energy, so just try to relax and let yourself heal. God Bless and take care.---Toni

Mary, If I remember correctly that is absolutely the normal thing for right now. I have to agree with all of the above comments. Your fresh out of surgery. I was feeling much more energetic at 6 weeks and back to work at 8 weeks out. I thought that I would be exhausted going back to work but did great. Are you walking alot at home? My husband took me to the grocery store and to Walmart so that I could walk as it was March. At first could not walk a long way but the grocery cart helped me to achieve longer and faster walks in the sections of the store with less traffic. I am sure that people thought we were strange, me pushing the cart and him following and not shopping just walking. I would always put something in the cart to buy (that we needed at home). The things we do to get our exercise. Keep up the good work, your on the right track now...woo hoo. Congratulations Brenda

Hi, I'm 8 weeks out and I still don't have a lot of energy. I get stronger every day, but my energy level is still quite low. Be patient and keep exercising as much as you can!
