An EXCITING adventure!
Hello fellow WLSers!
I am home from a week long adventure to Orlando. It was a nice trip, but I have an amazing story to share....
While visiting Universal Studios my g/f Shelia discovered that they have a LIVE version of FEAR FACTOR so she thought it would be fun for us to audition to be contestants.........so we did. Out of 30 people they select 6 to perform in the LIVE action show. well, needless to say she was not selected, but me being the goodfriend that went along WAS. They had me sign off on any lawsutis, and geared me and the other five contestants up in some lovely red & balck spandex outfits, and some wonderful harnesses and explained how the show operated, had us tape our introductions and then off to the stage for our FUN!. THe first challange was the endurance hang, where you hang on a metal bar (that is slope at a downward 45 degree angle) 40 feet above concrete and the audience of 2000 people. Well, right then and there I knew I was out, because I cant even carry a 50 pound bag of cat food let alone hold my own body weight of 185 pounds (yup still holding tight to 20 pounds of baby blubber). So here I am first of the six out onto my platform, get harnessed in and then I hear 3...........2.........1.........BOOM floor out from underneath my feet! I am DOING IT!!! I am hanging on then I hear, "ONE MORE THING" and then these giant fans start to blow warm air at me, to help my hands to sweat even worse, as if the nerves and the 85 degree temp wasnt enough. Then I relize, I am still hanging. THen all of a sudden I hear the audience sigh..........awwwwwwwwwwww, and to my shock and amazement they are not awwing for em because I am still holding tight! THen out of curiousity and forgettign that I am in a competion I look down to see who in fact fell, then ...............Whooooooomp! Off I went too. I was second off, but I did manage to hang for a whole 36 seconds, but the longest hanger only hung on for 51. So all in all I am very proud, as I not only passed the endurance portion of the audition (and beat out several ******y, skinny, young girls) but that I actually did somethign so out there and was actually successful at it! I may not have successfully won the entire competion, but I successfully held my own body weight longer than I ever thought that I could. This is something that I never would have attempted at 295 pounds, or even got that far either. I recommend that you all try it! As soon as my girlfriend emails me the pics I will post them.
Thanx for letting me share!
~Sandy
PS..... Linda............no weight loss here, but still trying!
