BATHROOM BLUES! CAUTION......READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
Hi Everyone,
I know the title sounds silly, but seriously,to put this delicately, I am having some real big time bathroom issues. I have had diarhea since Sunday and have lost 7 1/2 lbs. over four days time. (Nice - but I think its all water and at least a couple of these lbs. will find me when this passes.) I feel dehydrated, even though I am chugging water like crazy. Everything seems to be just whooshing thru my system. Has anyone else experienced this?
I thought at first it might be a flu bug but I don't have any other flu symptoms, however, I am very tired. I think though that the fatigue may be due to my bout with a bleeding ulcer last month and I know that it will be a bit before my energy comes back after that.
Today, I am going to lay off any solid food and just have a couple protein shakes and see if that helps.
Any comments or suggestions?
Hugzzz,
Pam

I know this is kind of a weird and a little gross to post about but I want input from you guys as to if you have ever had this same thing happen. Thanks!
Hi Pam! I have had diarhea but mostly digustingly strong gas. My stomach has been upset for atleast a week. I haven't been able to drink pop in 3 days because of how much worse it makes me feel. I was told by some friends that it is probably a flu bug. Most of my friends have had this stomach flu already. Today, my daughter, woke up and said "Mommy - my tummy hurts!". She, I think, is having the same thing.
Good luck! Stock up on the toilet paper and take it easy.
Patty
Hi Pam,
Could you tell me a little more about your bleeding ulcer. I am having issues with that also we think. I have to have a colonoscopy tomorrow. Don't know if it will tell me anything or not. We will see. What did they do for you? Have you had anymore problems?
As far as the bathroom issues, have you been constipated prior to the diarreha? If so you need to be careful of a bowel blockage. I know you would think if you have diarreha you wouldn't be blocked but unfortunately that isn't the case. Diarreha is a symptom of it. I am NOT saying that is why you have that issue, I just want you to be aware of this in case you have had constipation problems. Hopefully it is just the flu. Please keep us posted. I don't know if you can drink gatoraid or not (I am not sure if it has surgar in it or not but if it doesn't you may want to drink some for the electrolytes.) Or maybe some pediolite? anyway, I hope you feel better soon. God Bless and take care.---Toni
Hi Pam,
Sorry I didn't have the chance to join all of you on Saturday--The pictures were wonderful..
As far as your Bathroom woes-- I have talked with lots of people with the same symptoms in the last few weeks. My neighbor is a Physician's Assistant and she said since February most of their appointments have been for the same thing.. You are right to keep up on your protein and fluids- Maybe give your PCP a call and see what they are doing for people. You don't want to go too long and get dehydrated.. Keep on "sipping"-
God Bless
AmyH
Pam: Did you call and check with the MMPC docs, just to check if it is something with the ulcer? I know you are miserable. I really haven't had that problem since surgery, it's more the other way. I have to be sure to get fruit in so that I don't get backed-up ( so to speak ) I think Toni was on the mark with the Pedialite. It would have less sugar than the Gatorade, so maybe you can tolerate it. Check the sugar content and see if there is some sugar-free type. Let me know how it goes. Love, Pam (P.S. Thanks for reloading those pictures for me. I finally got them to load onto my picture trail account, too. Had to copy them from the yahoo site. I also reloaded them on my computer from there since they changed from jpg to bmp. UGH!)
