Back from my PCP

I went to the PCP today to see about my cough, the reason my surgery got cancelled for today. He had treated me for the cough in February and said then that he thought I'd need prednisone to actually get rid of it. He didn't want to prescribe it at that time because of my diabetes. Today I came home with the script for prednisone and Novolog- Insulin. The prednisone to calm my immune system down and the Insulin to cover the sugar highs caused by the prednisone. It's a low dose prednisone that won't interfer with the surgery, after the cough was gone. He thought I'd be able to reschedule 2-3 weeks after the cough is gone. I have to call him when the cough is gone and he'll send the clearance to the surgeon. Jeanne

I hope everything goes ok with getting your surgery cleared as planned. I couldnt even imagine what a major let-down that would be to see your surgery date come and go like that. Keep your chin up and you will be on the losing side soon.

Hi Jeanne, I am sorry. You must be so disappointed! Well, I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I am sure you will get a new date very soon. Just try to relax and get better. Jeanne, Hang in there! I am scheduled for my surgery May 1st and still have a cough from January so I went to my pcp yesterday also and got meds to clear it up. I dont want to have to miss my surgery, so I can imagine how you feel. Get well!!!
