Multi Vitamins Question

I was told by my surgeons office (CORI Center) that I needed to purchase a multi vitamin with chelated minerals. Well I went to vitamin world and purchased Millennium Tonic Whole Body Nutrition. The sales person told me that the minerals in this (or any other product they sell) are not all chelated. I don't know if this is ok or not. Is there anyone out there that can possibly advise me if this is going to be an ok product or not? Thanks as always for all of your help! Jennifer

I don't know anything about that product (you might check with Cori on it), but I take Country Lifes Adult Chewable Multivitamin (which Cori recommended) and the minerals are chelated. I live in Sterling Heights too and get mine at the vitamin store at 15 Mile and Dodge Park. Good Luck, Mary

Thanks for a location that sells them Mary! I am at 18 and Ryan, so not too far from there I am thinking about just returning these and going to the store you just mentioned. I was told at my consult that Vitamin world sold them (Country life), so I was surprised when I went there that they didn't. Thanks again Jennifer

Some dietary supplement manufacturers sell "chelated" minerals, which they claim are better absorbed by the body.

I had the same problem when I first went to buy them! Discount Nutrition Centers always carries them and they have a good chelated iron supplement too if you end up needing it! The regular iron wouldn't work for me.

Thanks everyone for your helpful answers. I called CORI (expecting to hear I bought the wrong stuff) and Darcy said what I got was fine. She also gave me an alternative that Vitamin World sells for far less than what I spent!

I use Optisource. It's available from Walgreens and is specially formulated for Gastric Bypass patients. It's an orange chewable vitamin that actually taste good.
