Surgery cancelled for Monday...or postponed

My surgery was cancelled for the 20th until I can see my internist or pulmonologist for clearance on my cough. I had a good case of bronchitis in early February. The cough got better or at least I thought it did. This week I've been cleaning and I think it set off my asthma, which has always come in the form of a cough. I called the doctor today and he said he'd cancel the surgery until I could get clearances. Jeanne

I'm crying for you today. I know you're dissapointed in the cancelation. But be greatful that at least your's was cancelled for a good reason (your health) and not some fluke in the insurance or a change like all these Medicare people are going through right now!! Thanks Laurie and Jennifer. All I could think about all week was Laurie and her cough. I know my PCP thought I might need steroids when I first got the cough but was reluctant to give them to me. I don't know what he'll do now. I've had to have them before for this type of cough and it did get rid of it. I also have a history of having an asthma attack after a previous surgery so I was afraid of this happening. Laurie, have you heard anything about your hernia surgery? Jeanne

Sorry Jeanne but I know that you would want to be at you best when you take on the surgery. This crazy winter we had really reeked havoc with peoples respiratory tract. I hope you feel better soon and get cleared. Praying for wellness, Mary
