I am interested in hearing how people celebrated their anniversaries of their surgeries. What did you do? Did you celebrate? Did you spend the day just like any other? I don't know if I am weird or if it is just my cir****tances of my surgery but I am looking at the upcoming day as a celebration of being alive, so I plan on spending the day in selfish splendor! Please share with me how you spent your day. Jill

My dream is in July on my Anniversary- to be with family and friends who have supported me throughout my journey. Unfortunately- I will be at work. Oh well. Maybe it will be a good night! I think I would celebrate it like a birthday and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOooooooooooooohoooooooooooo!!! Maybe even a shot of Frangelico!!! Just one.

I treated it like a normal day but I shared my success with those around me by talking about what I used to be like. I also went out and bought myself a charm bracelet that on one side has the date and weight of my surgery and the date and weight on my one year anniversary. I bought it to remind me of where I came from and where I can go. Suzanne 300/150

I like the charm bracelet idea, I did take the spoon that I had fed myself with after surgery and had it made into a bracelet by a silver jewelry craftsman. Thanks for the great suggestion Jill

I also spent the day as any other day, but I did make a sentimental post here on the board. You are right that it is a celebration of being alive and everyday I thank god for my second chance for my new life. On my second anniversary (in 6 months) I will celebrate! Take caare, Janice Geer
