Need ALOT of HELLPPP!
I am 4 months post op. I'm doing really good weight wise but emotion, and eating are a complete other story.
I'm grazing and I need help on ways to fill me up so I don't eat all the wrong foods. I have had no dumping and I hardly throw up. I can eat almost anything including all the goodies. I don't eat half of what I was eating before but I'm still eating it.
The emotional aspect is that I still see the old me in the mirror even though my clothes fit better and the sizes have gone down. My husband is very supportive on the weight loss but not on the food part.
If any of you can help I would really appreicate any advice you can give.

Good Morning Dawn,
I am 3 months Post Op and Am going through some of the same feelings.. I have a journal by my bed and before I go to bed I just take a few moments and Note some things that I feel good about that happened durong the day. I also note weather or not I tried to cheat on myself (Like eating the No No foods) I do dump terribly so I also note the foods and the amounts that I dumped on.. The Moral is that when I feel like Crap and don't see a change or when I stall I look through my journal at all the good things that Ive noted.. Like Walking without pain or the comments I get from people or just feeling great....
So you are doing great.... You have come a long way!! and the world is WIDE open for you.....

i go through a bit of the same thing and i might be wrong, but i've come to the conclusion that for me it's not about finding the right things to fill me up but to get it through my thick head that there is no need for me to feel filled up all the time. i'm not hungry so i think it's that old head thing (for me) of confusing the feeling of being full with the feeling of being satiated. They're not the same thing. (for me anyhow)
i think i need to take an example from what Kevin keeps saying and learn to eat for energy and not pleasure and get myself on a schedule. that is my goal this week.
Do you have a dietician working with you? I did. And for the first 5 months I had to write down EVERYTHING I put in my mouth every single day.
Remember this surgery is a tool, and it is not a cure. Just because you can resort to the goodies, don't. Remember, you can put the weight back on you lose easily. Follow the rules and though you dont feel full, maybe you are not consuming enough water. I was told to drink a gallon of water a day even if I had to sip on it. This fills you up and keeps you full. Plain water bothered me so I did drin**** tea, crystal light and propel or fruit 2o. Flavored no sugar waters.
If you are not seeing a dietician request to do so if your insurance plan covers it. They can help you set daily limits and goals.
Best of luck to you
