Denied again!!!!!

I recieved my letter today stating that I was denied with a recomendation to try weight loss pills. What the H--- does that mean. I called the insurance company to try to get a better understanding and needless to say the people I spoke with did not have one either. I got the name of my case manager ofcourse she was not in. I will start my quest over in the morining. Has anyone ever even herd of this?

Welcome to the world of insurance HELL. I can't offer you any suggestions because I too was denied by my insurance so instead just know I feel for you and can relate to what you are going through. For me, instead of fighting them I went self pay. Not for everyone I understand but the time was right and the funds were available so I went out of the country and had a different WLS procedure than you are considering. It's sounds crazy I know. It did to me too at first. Either way hang in there. We are here for you.

I was approved but I had medical documentation showing i had done a six month diet with Phen-fen, 12 weeks of plain Phentermine and six months of Xenical throughout the years. Not to mention Weigh****chers, Diet Workshop and behavioral modification. Insurance companies don't want to pay for surgery and some doctors want us to try EVERY CONCEIVABLE method of weight loss before approving us for surgery. Stick with it and don't give up. Personally i had to fight for many years and eventually change doctors and insurance companies before i was approved. Others here have had less and more struggles but we do what we have to do and we find our way. Good luck with your endeavors.

Tenecia I am so sorry that your insurance denied you. I know first hand how you feel. My insurance did the same thing to me. If you have everything else that your insurance company is looking for maybe you can have your pcp write you a letter excusing you from some of the diet pills because of the side effects. My pcp would not perscribe me anything that makes your heart race and he put that in my notes. I hope this helps some. Just stay encouraged and dont give up. Dayja

Wow, I am sorry to hear the they denied you again. I havent submitted my info. yet, I go for a sleep study tonight and then back to the shrink and then I think they will submit my info. I am really nervous, as I also have a ppom (Midwest Security). I dont have any advise for you but I will be praying that your dream becomes a reality soon. Good luck. Kim
