Plastic Surgery Woes

Well, It has almost been one year since my re-birth (just a few days shy of my anniversary date) and I have begun the search for a good PS that can take care of all this loose sagging skin. I feel I have hit a brick wall! All of the PS docs in the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek area have a 6 month waiting list just for a consult! I guess I will have to start looking in Grand Rapids or to the East side of the state! I have lost a whopping 179 pounds and am down to a size 12/14 clothing and could prolly get into smaller if I could get rid of all this excess skin! Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks Tracy

If you're willing to drive to Chelsea, (exit 159 on I-94) Dr. Sherick did my PS and is wonderful! I only had to wait a couple of weeks, at the most, to get in. His main office is in AA but but he also works out of Chelsea and Chelsea Hosp. is the best.

I don't know how far you would be willing to drive - Dr. Komorowski in Bay City I am seeing for my needs (later this summer). You might want to consider Lansing as Battle Creek is a straight shot over 94 to 69 to Lansing and Sparrow Regional Medical Center is a decent hospital. I wish you the best!

Tracy, there is a PS at MSU here in Kalamazoo (I think his name is Robinson) and I believe that he does not have a wait list. I don't know about his surgical skill and I'll be honest I wasn't impressed with his bedside manner (he works with my surgeon). It could have been a bad day for him. I do know that my surgeon's nurse (who also had RNY surgery) trusts his skills and is having him perform her ps. If you're interested, I can get a number for him and you can take it from there. Hey Tracy I have looked into seeing Dr Lepppink in Grand Rapids who spoke at the MMPC support meeting. He does alot of work with Bariatric patients and came highly recommended. Good luck on your search. Tricia

Hey Tracy... 179 pound that is UNBELIVABLE... you've lost what I now weigh.. HOLY CHIT! I know Im ahead of the game here as I'm only 6 months post op but... I have met with Dr. Morris here in Midland ( OVERPRICED in my opinion, and I know too many people who are not 100% satisfied with their results from him.) I met Dr Weiss out of Sagianw (LOVE HIM.. came in at $10,000 LESS then Morris with an added procedure!!!!!!!!! very down to Earth for a PS.) I have an appointment with Dr.Komerowski from Bay City that keeps geting changed...I hear great things about him, but right now Im not overly impressed with his office staff... Im also considering DiNick out of Yipsi, however trying to schedule with him and my schedule is HARD.... Well hope that gives you soem insite... Give my girl Elizabeth a BIG 'ol hug for me!!! Congrats on the weight loss! Wow!!! Not sure if you would consider going to Flint, but I just had my TT done with Dr. Alganheim. He was awesome as was his office staff. He works out of Hurley. Good luck. Tracey
