15 days post op and down 28 lbs. Eating from stage four (pureed food)

Hello I have been replying to posts and emails but havent had time to post. I had surgery on 2/21/06 as planned the insurance was reactivated a half hour before I had to be at hospital for prep. Surgery started at 1:55pm and lasted an hour an a half. Dr. Pesta said and the anastesia dr said everything went perfect. DR Pesta told my mom it was a text book surgery and that I did great. I woke up in recovery and was screaming come to find out the epidural was in too far and was not distributing the pain meds so he pulled it out a little and I immediatley started to feel better. I was not npo that night I was eating popsicles and ice cups by the cupful about four or five cups that night. The next day I had broth, sf jello and diluted juice. I was put on diladid instead of morphine becasue of all my injuries and my extremely high tolerance to meds. I was in the hospital til sat. I had the best nurses and pca's in the world Mary ann, Andy, Sharon, Jackie , Toyia were the sweetest nicest people in the world. I came home on a Sat. My angel was in the room when I came out of recovery. While in the hospital I had several visitors who brought flowers, cards stuffed animals and balloons, I loved everything I got. Thank you to my mom, dave, sue lane , lori and kevin peterson (they visited several times) leann, kari, chenel and my aunt mary and my cousin bernadette and my god child catrina who all came to see me. I am so grateful to have such great family and friends. I went to Dr Pesta's office three time already first visit I was down 8 lbs second 3/6/06 down 24 and today 3/8 down 28lbs. So thats 28 lbs in 15 days I cannot tell any difference I have been depressed and confused. I go walk at CVS for a couple hours and shop and walmart for three or four hours and shop every day I am at one or the other. Last night I went to cvs and the grocery store . I have been following all the rules (my mom is the drill sgt. ha ha ) And I started having an allergic reaction to the lovenox (the injection I give my self twice a day since leaving the hospital) Monday night I started getting lumps and welts and red spots all over the areas on my belly where I had injected the medicine. I am in so much pain it itches and feels like I have the flu, my whole body hurts even my incision which hasent hurt since the third day in the hospital. I am on diladid and it does nothing . DR wang gave me a script for cream and Pesta sugeested zantac and benadryl together they are supposed to fight off the allergy quickly. I also bought aveno menthol extreme dry skin cream. I am hoping this depression will go away and I will start to feel good about this wonderful second chance at life god gave me. Angie~You are doing AWESOME!!! Congratulations!!! 28lbs in 15 days is great!!! I'm glad to hear you are finding ways to get your walking in!!! Maybe the coming of spring will help with the depression...I was pretty depressed shortly after having surgery too...but I have delt with depression for most of my adult life so it wasn't anything "new" for me!! Hi Angie, Congratulations on the fantastic weight loss so far!!! That is awesome girl! You are going to be at goal in no time. As far as the depression goes, it is a normal part of ANY surgery. It is a side effect of the trama your body goes thru. It will get better. If it doesn't in a week or so, see your pcp and he can give you something for it for a while. Keep up the great work. I just want to thank all of you *****ad and post reply's I really love getting feed back It helps me get through the tough days. I am so grateful for all the friends I have met here on oh. com.
