I need to increase my protein. I can't drink the protein drinks they make me sick. I was wondering what protein bars everyone eats. Maybe I can eat the protein bars to get my protein up. Debbie

Hi Debbie, I supplement with several different types of protein bars. They are a tad sweet at times so I make sure I have some very cold water to help "wash" them down or some milk. Here are my favorites: Zone Perfect- Chocolate Almond Raisin - 15 gms protien Balance Bar Trail Mix Energy Bar - Cinnamon, oats & honey - 15 gms prot. Both I get at Wal-Mart over in the pharmacy area. These 2 specific bars qhich are higher tha other prtein bars normally aren't over in the food section with the other energy bars. The other night while at the Owosso Meijer store's gas station they had the Balance Bars at their counter marked down to 70 cents a bar. So I nearly bought them all. LOL Normally they will run a little over a dollar at Wally World and $1.59 at Meijer. Wal-Mart had boxes of 5 or 6 of the Zone Bars on sale for under $4.00. That also was a good deal. Good luck and have fun taste testing. Patt

I eat Luna Bars. I know they are available at Target, Meijer, and other area grocery stores. But the best price is at Target. Suzanne 300/153/150

I buy the Pure Protein bars at WalMart. 190 calories, 19-20g protein and 3g net carbs. They are pretty decent.

Debbie, I eat the Pure Protein bars....The ones I like the best are Smores and the chocolate peanutbutter. They can be a little sweet sometimes but most of the time they are great. Crystal

The most delightful, thin, light, crunchy and tasty protein bars I have ever tried can be purchased online at: http://www.performancenutritionals.com/store/Shop_By_Brand___BioNutritionalBIO2860000?Args=&source=google&partnerid=rb008&gclid=CKX4_YOYwYICFRAXIgod5R They come in several flavors but the best by far is the Peanut Butter Chocolate. These bars contain 14 grams of protein and are thin, light and tasty. I have one first thing in the morning and feel great and they are not thick, and chewy and heavy like some bars are. They run 13.98 for a box of 12 plus shipping and I highly recommend them. They are called BioNuntrional Power Crunch Protein Bars and I give them a perfect 10 out of 10!

Sally: I was told by my dietician I could have the bars again after 6 weeks, but only if I could tolerate them. They went down okay after 6 weeks, but now I am 11 months out and the crunchy, granola type ones bother my tummy. You should double check with your surgeon's office, but after that, it's kind of personal on the tolerance of just about all foods! Hope that helps! Pam

I like the taste of Pure Protein better than most and you can get them for a buck a peice at Kroger with the card ata times. I also go to GNC and buy the Kong bars but only eat half at a time. I bought a box of theose for 6 bucks with my card so that was 50 cents a piece. kp @ goal
