Can anyone answer my question? (a woman's question)
DUCT TAPE?????????? You are kidding, right???
I think I'm heading towards calling my surgeon Monday and get in to see him and ask "WHY THE WAIT" and then explain WHY I want it sooner, and if he still advises against it until I'm 1 year post op, then I am going to see my PCP and see what she has to say.
Who knows, I may end up waiting, and then again, I may not.
I want to know why I need to wait, and perhaps if my surgeon knew exact details rather than from his nurse, he might be able to respond better.
It is my fault for not providing proper full information before asking this.
Regardless, it will happen, if not now, then later.
I refuse to USE DUCT TAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stacey: I can tell you why they want you to wait. My surgeon wrote about it in his book. You need to wait to see how much your skin will shrink before you have ANY plastics done. The skin has already been stretched to extremes by being obese and it needs a year to 18 months to do the shrinking that it can do on it's own. It will make the plastics more successful in the end, and that is what you want, correct? I hope this helps some. Personally, I have the sagging boobs, too, but I feel like with a good bra, they look fine in my clothes. I've found that wearing two sports bras, or a regular bra and a sports bra together works for heavy duty workouts. I have a good swimsuit and they look okay in that, too. My legs are worse looking to me and there is no way to "hide" them in a swimsuit. But dang, I worked hard to get this weight off so I am not going to sweat it! You are going to be just fine, Stacey. Let your personality shine and any guy will be lucky to have you! Love, Pam
Stacey,
I hear you girl!
I have lost almost 100 lbs. And when I look at my "sags and bags" it kinda reminds me of that dog with the saggy folds type skin. (I think the breed is a char pei.?) really cute on the puppy - but not so on me.
Just this week I discovered what looks like a second set of buns starting to form on my lower abdomen. (I think the medical term is a panniculous.?) Truly, when I sqeeze all the loose skin together it forms the cutest little behind. (Sorry folks - no pics will be posted. Lol)
Anyhow, just be patient and congratulations on your weight loss so far.
I plan on waiting till I'm done with the weight loss part of my journey and then maybe looking into surgery. For right now, I am enjoying this and view it as a measure of sorts of my progress since last July's WLS.
Hugzzz,
Pam
