Need Frankenmuth Ideas
Yes you can walk downtown, and go to the old "school" thats a neat place. Then you can go to the Village, and go into the Haunted house that opened all year long. One girl that works with me, Her aunt owns it it ...They also have a little spa there you and your hubby can get a massage. . Its really good. You can also to the horse ride/carriage thing, and if the boat ride is there(open). DO that! They also have the worlds largest Christmas display and store! Thats pretty cool. Or go to Birch RUN, they have awesome shopping there!
Have fun

I love Frankenmuth! And go there often since it is less than hour from my home. It is a shoppers paradise especially if you throw in Birch Run. But a tip about Birch Run.. You can get the same things at any outlet mall like the one in Howell or somewhere else. So if you live close to one use your time exploring Frankenmuth itself and save the outlet shopping for another place/time.
Does your hubby like to shop? Are either of you interested in antiques? If so stop at Red's which is outside of town. It's located where you would turn left to go straight into Frankenmuth (there's a blinking light there). Instead of making that left turn, make a right turn and make an immediate left into the parking lot. Looks dumpy from the outside but there are treasures there to be had. You just have to take the time to look. Red can be a little intimidating and he doesn't give his things away but it is still fun to shop there. The old photos on the wall that runs along the stairs are a real hoot to look at.
Don't forget the military museum that is next to Bronners. The Old School House isn't really worth your time or effort anymore. Not much there these days. It used to be much better. Last time I walked down there (been in the last 6 months) I was sorely disappointed in fact I don't think there was one shop in the place. There is a Curves in there now and it is used for some community things.
It will be too early in the season for the boat ride or the laser light show that is done nightly in the shops accross the water from the Bavarian Inn but the shops there are very interesting to walk through.
Save yourself some money but still get the chicken dinner experience by eating in the cafeteria style restuarant in the basement of Zehnders or is it the Bavarian? (Sorry I always confuse the 2) . It's cheaper and you can pick & choose what you like.
Most important.. HAVE FUN!!
Recently on our return from DTW to pick up my sister, we stayed in Frankenmuth at the Fairfield Marriot Hotel and it was really nice. Pool and exercise room and free continental breakfast.
I recommened Zehnder's for dinner, the food is outstanding and the atmosphere will take you back to the 1800's!
After dinner I would stroll down the main street and walk along the shops and believe me, there are plenty. After a stroll, perhaps visit Bronners Christmasland and pick out a couple ornaments you two both can admire for the years ahead.
I also know Birch Run is the state known "Outlet Mall" clsoe by and there are many a great deal if you two want to take on shopping.
If shopping is not for you, and you want something more "romantic" then I recommend The Bavarian Inn and walk under the covered bridge and perhaps weather permitting go sledding, skiing or ice skating together.
Might want to consider doing a www.google.com search for other events and things happening in Frankenmuth.
Hope the time together becomes cherished for the both of you!
