Having a hard time adjusting to Traverse city life

Everyone knows that I moved to Traverse city for a new job at Munson and I really like my job and the people at Munson but I am so lonely and depressed because I miss my old life in Grand Rapids. I feel like a outsider because I have no idea what there is to do in the area. I am a person who has a hard time making new friends because I am really shy and have personal issues. There are days I just want to move back to Grand Rapids and my old life. I doubt myself everyday and think have I made the right decision. I am not a quitter so if anyone can give me advice on finding things to do or groups to join I would appreciate it alot. I am looking for a church which has singles ministry to attend and any other activities like I play sports and bowling. I am single so anything would be great to help me feel more like home. Boy Tricia, It is tough moving to a new place, but you must be a strong person to move to a new area alone. Good for you!!! You should be proud of yourself for taking such a big step. Meeting new people takes time, but will tell you you will need to take another step forward and put yourself out there. Looking for a new church is a good direction. I would look in the phone book for local chruches in your area and call and talk to the pastor and get a feel for him/her and what the church has to offer. I am pretty sure there is a wls support group up in your new area. That would be another place to meet new people. I want to wish you the best. I know you will do great. Hi Tricia, My old Pastor retired and he and his wife moved up near there. Right now they're here visiting me I can tell them what you are looking for. I'm sure they can help. I may not be able to talk to them until the afternoon, cause I have some appointments. I will let you know what they have to say. I love them to pieces. They are like parent's to me.
