You are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you my angel Elysia to look over you.

They found that I have multiple nodules (masses) in the thyroid. Several on the left side are hot (overactive) and one on the right which is cold (underactive). A cold nodule carries a slight risk of cancer. I've been feeling like I constantly have something wrapped around my throat, chocking me. So, they will remove the whole thyroid. Its very uncomfortable to live with, so it leaves little choice. Although I'm not looking forward to living on TSH for the rest of my life...I can't live with this feeling either.
Thanks for the explaination. My mom got to the point where she just wouldn't function! I mean, they'd do a knee jerk reflex on her and you could count to ten before she would react!
I'm so glad you are taking care of this. My aunt died in 1980 because she had the growth blocking her windpope - of course it was her thyroid. It was sad because she was only in her 50's.
Luckily, mom mom hasn't had to have surgery, as she is underactive, but has to take synthroid. If she misses even one dose, it shows up a week later.
Best of luck to you and I hope that you will keep us informed of your progress.
