Any suggestions???
I feel like the weight loss is not moving as fast as everyone else's profiles. I had my surgery on December 12, 2005 and have lost 35 pounds. I drink 64 ounces a water a day sometimes not all on the week ends, exercise about 4 days out of the week, feel like I really don't eat that much and when I get on the scale it doesn't really move. When I read peoples profiles they say how the weight just fell off. I'm I doing something wrong or can you give me any suggestions... I have my 3 month check up with Dr. Kole in March and was also going to set up an appointment with the new nuturionist. I know the weight didn't appear over night and it went be gone in a second but just a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful I finally got it done but just need some encouragement and help.
Without any specifics, it is hard to pinpoint for sure. However, most people who are early post-ops who had slow weight loss were more than likely not taking in enough calories. When you take in too few calories, your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to any weight it can. As soon as you increase the calories, more weight comes off. It sounds backwards, but it works. If you are taking in under 1000 calories, you aren't "feeding the furnace" enough.

hi francine, i had my surgery dec 27.05 and also had dr.kole so far i have lost 55 lbs.. i have a few questions for you do you drink protein? if not you should be drinking at least 80 grams a day and get in your water..make sure you eat at least 1000 cals and the weight will come off. at first i had a problem with no weight comming off i started with
the protein and water and now its comming off. i eat every 2 and a half hours. sometime i go a little longer. and i stick with the no water holf hour befor and none half hour after.. good luck
Hi Francine,
Ok..for starters..you were a light weight to start. You (like me) do not weigh as much as most so, you certainly won't lose as fast as others. I was so worried newly post too! Believe me! But....follow the 'rules', stick to the plan, stuff in the water, walking and protein and the miracle will happen!
Also..keep telling yourself..would u be 35 pounds lighter if you did WW? Hell no...lol
You are doing great! Keep your chin up and keep at it and....STAY OFF THE SCALE...it is BAD for you!
Good Luck,
-Loretta
