Well it has been 9 weeks since the surgery. I have lost over 60 lbs. I can not believe how easy it has been. However the last 2 weeks I have lost only 1 lbs. How long will this last? I would like to start losing weight again. I am still eating the same amount.

Sometimes you have to up the amount that you are eating. Also the choices you are making can make a difference. My dietician always taught me to eat every couple of hours to get my metabollism going. I have done that since the surgery and it works well. I am only 3 pounds from goal at this point. I have gotten stuck for weeks at a time as well. Dont get me wrong I think we all go through that. It could be stress or not working out enough or if you have changed something in your routine. Good Luck!! You are doing awesome so far. Suzanne 300/153/150

Jim: That's a lot of weight to drop in such a short period of time. Your body needs to adjust to the changes happening inside, so take it easy and let your body get used to the "new you". Don't worry about the scale right now, I remember it playing tricks with me right at the beginning, especially since I had done 3 months of diet and exercise prior to surgery. Don't weigh more than once a week, keep track of inches lost instead. You will also see the change in the way the clothes fit and that is more important than a number on the scale, anyway! You are doing fantastic. Don't stress yourself out on the numbers of that scale. It is different for everyone, but if you are getting in all your water, and following the pouch rules, you're gonna do just fine! Pam

I hear ya, Jim. I'm kinda in the same boat. I'm 12 weeks out and have been stalled at - 48 lbs. for the last three. I knew that this was bound to happen so I'm not too concerned and hope that you aren't either. For now, what I'm going to do, is go back to the food journal and make sure I am not inadvertently getting in too many carbs and work really hard to get my 64 ozs. of water in...plus some. (I know I have been lax in this area.) Then I'm gonna try to step up the ol excercise and sit back and wait. If you've got any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear em since this is my first plateau and I'd like to get back on the losing end of things, myself. Good news for me, though. I just got my lab results back and I lowered my cholesterol! To the tune of 61 points! And I didn't even eat one lousy bowl of oatmeal...teehee. Take Care. Maria W.

Hey Jim, I had surgery on August 25, 2005 and the month of October I lost 2 1/2 pounds- TOTAL!! I was very discouraged, but my group leader told me to hang in there that it happens. As of today I've lost 80 pounds and I'm very happy with that. Good Luck, Ali Rae

Jim, 60lbs is a lot of weight to loose in 9 weeks. I agree your body is just trying to adjust itself. Make sure to take your body measurements too, because some months more might drop in inches than in pounds! As long as you know you are doing what you are suppose to it is pretty certain that your weight loss will resume soon. Good Luck! Mary
