Well after about 8 months I've finally been approved for surgery!!!!! I'm so excited!!! But at the same time I'm scared out of my mind. I have so many thoughts running through my head I can hardly think straight! I go Monday afternoon to meet with my surgeon again. I have a page full of questions for him! I don't even know if I've covered everything I should be asking. Any tips on what I should not forget to ask? I can't wait to get this over and start my new happier, healthier life! I'll probably be posting more often with tons of questions the closer I get to whatever my date will be. I apologize in advancce if I get annoying! I do have an important question, has anyone gone through barix? how was your experience? My surgeon is Dr. Poplowski and I've great things about him, I guess I just need a little reassurance. I've been second guessing myself ever since I found out I was approved. One more question, my 9yr old daughter asked me the most heart wrenching question, she asked if I was gonna die from the surgery. Of course I told her no, that I would be fine and home in a few days, we have been very honest with her about what is going I thought it was only fair. I'm just afraid that I've done the wrong thing. Any thoughts? Thanks for listening and I'll post again later. Lindsay

Lindsay First of all congratulations on your approval. I think you have made the right choice because you will be prolonging your life instead of possibly cutting it short because of your weight. Just explain to your daughter how you are going to be healthier after the whole ordeal. You are being very smart because you have a list of questions to ask the dr. I told my dr when I met with him I have a list of questions and he always goes over my list with me whenever I meet with him. I think that is a sign of a good doctor. My dr. was originally with CORI but now he works with Henry Ford Bariatrics. I am sure there are other people on the boards that have used your doctor. Your doctor might also have a forum that you can check out as well. Do a search for him on here. Post away with the questions. That is what we are here for. I hope everything goes well for you.
