I'm sorry! That is the WORST feeling! Actually - shrimp (and most seafood) goes down very easily for me. It was one of the few 'meats' that I could tolorate well. Take care, Nicole -195lbs!

That is too bad Dori. I didn't have problems tolerating shrimp. I did with anything beef for awhile. It does improve and you will find your tolerance increases. When I have a icky pouch day, I find hot tea works wonders. Hope you are feeling better...dumping stinks! ~Van

No kidding?!?!? Shrimp is a regular for me. Even a little ****tail sauce works over the right amount of time. Are you sure it was a real dump or did you just get ahold of a funky shrimp? That will definately make you want to die and since we have no tolerance anyway the effects would be quick and severe. Did you get the screamers right away or did a whole day go by? Either way I bet it will be a long time before you get the hankerin for another one. Good luck. kp @ goal

You're not alone. I was DYING for shrimp.. made a stir-fry kind of dish with it, but it made my pouch feel icky too. Almost like the shrimp was too "stringy" and didn't want to go down right... even though I chewed it till it was mush. Luckily I didn't dump (haven't yet on anything) but after eating one piece I knew I couldn't handle it. It'll be a loooong time before I'll even try it again. And that sucks because I'm a huge seafood lover. *sigh* Beth

Aren't pouches weird? Mine loves shrimp, crab meat and fish but hates lobster and scallops. And any sort of chicken is just auto-EJECT. Was the shrimp kind of rubbery? I think that's why lobsters and scallops irk my pouch but it's just a theory - I have no real evidence. The real drag is I hate fish. Hate. Hate. Hate it. However, as you know, the pouch always wins. "I fought the pouch and the pouch won." Isn't that a song?! I've had two bad dumps so far - one came from these bacon rinds from BariatricEating. I think I tried them too soon after post-op- they smelled so good cooking in the microwave but 6 hours later I was still praying for someone to kill me. The other was from a protein shake - I put a little sugar free coffee creamer in it to make it taste more like a shake - and for some reason- RALLLLLLPPPPPPPPPHHHHHHH. How are you feeling Dori? I saw Beth posted in this thread as well and I'm wondering how you both are feeling post-op? I go see Dr. Schram later this week for my 6 week (or 7 as the case maybe) moment of truth. Best, Michele P
