On 12-28-2005 I had a hernia repair and TT, done at Wyandotte Henry Ford Hospital. My Dr, who did the TT and Hernia Repair also did my Bariatric surgery. He had told me the TT was much more painful than the Bariatric surgery. Well it wasn't very painful, at all to my surprise. I think my Dr was also surprised. The recovery was 6 to 8 weeks at a 10 lb limit, and wearing the binder day and night. I still wear it now, for some reason it feels better on. My hernia was large and along the insision line, It got uncomfortable when I got gassy. It seems like I eat more now since it's gone. I hope this is of some help. [email protected]
I didn't try a binder for my hernia I just put up with it. But I think a binder would have helped a lot. When it got really bad I would lay on my right side for some reason this was the only was to get rid of the pain. I thought that I was able to eat less after the hernia repair. I didn't have the anchor cut, I had a cut from hip to hip with an internal corset stitch to tighten the muscles. I was off work (I'm an office manager so I can sit) for two weeks and part time for two weeks. Good luck, Fran
