First alcoholic drink

When did you have your first alcoholic drink? I know the CORI book states 6 months and you will be a cheap date. I just wanted to know anyone elses experiences? Is the 6 months so your pouch can heal and because of the calories?

I had my first drink at 3 months out. I did not drink that much because it will affect you a lot more, quicker. As everyone else would probably say, though, I would check with your doctor and follow their recommendations. Good luck.

I still have not had any hard liquor, simply a glass of wine with dinner well OK maybe a glass or two I have always loved my wine with dinner and still do, I find it soothes my tummy, my gastro doc said that really isn't so far fetched either, when drinking red wine it does have a calming effect on some peoples stomach. But I will tell you I waited almost 6 months before I had that first glass of wine with my meal. Jill
