WORST DAY !!!!!!!! SURGERY MAY BE POST PONED.

Well when I woke up today still sick with my sinus infection cold/flu I sure didnt think I was going to end it in tears again, Well first because I am sick they may post pone my surgery becasue of that I knew all along that if I got sick that was a posibility. So my internist office called in another zpack and told me to take more of it so I thought ok I will be better, I also talked to the office manager at Dr.Pesta's office said not to worry I should be ok if my lungs sounded clear when I saw my dr which they did. Well then I have been waiting to hear from my HR dept from work all week about wether or not I was going to have one more week of benefits before I had to pay for cobra until I go back to work (funny thing the day I go back to work I have full benefits) finally she called at 4pm and said oh your benefits have been cancelled and your cobra wont start for a week or two and she gave me the ladies name who handles cobra as I am freaking out I call the cobra lady and she says if I overnight her a payment for 202.02 for two weeks she will reinstate my benefits under cobra and I will be ok tuesday. So the min my bf walked in the door he rushed me to the post office i get everything filled out and I think ok I am going to get my surgery until the post office lady says THAT MONDAY IS A HOLIDAY and that if there is no where to deliver the mail to tomorrow sat that she wont get my check till tuesday by noon. and they are an hour behind us in plano texas (my wk headquarters) So when I had called shelly at Pesta's office she said she cant get me in for surgery til 3/7 or 3/9 My nero surgeon told me at the hospital that if I didnt get the surgery asap I would be posibly paralyzed in the next month because my weight is crushing my spine. I cant believe this if its not one hurdle(insurance denials) its another what do I do I have been crying since 4pm I am a wreck IS GOD TRYING TO TELL ME SOMETHING???? PLEASE EVERYONE I AM LOOKING FOR YOUR HELP, YOUR PRAYERS AND YOUR WELL WISHES THAT THE MAIL GETS TO My hr and I am well on tuesday when I have the anesthisialogist exam me to be sure its safe. Do you have a letter from that doctor to give to Pesta? I am sure they would fit you in if they knew the dire cir****tances. I know it seems far away, but three weeks is not so long. It just seems that way because the emotions are running so high. You sound so panicked and stressed. I am afraid if you don't relax and slow down, your health will work against you. The body reacts to stress in ways that make us sick and miserable. That is the last thing you need right now. The hard part in things like this for me are the things I have no control over. Those are the things that make me crazy. I was a maniac waiting for my TT. I made myself miserable, and it did me no good. I got the surgery and am now recovered well. You are doing everything within your power to do. The Cobra is taken care of, the date is almost set, and now all you have to do is wait. We are here for you as well. Take Care, Terri

Angie I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I know it can be so frustrating and unfortunately things cannot go smooth for everyone. Just think about how things are going to be once you have the surgery. I agree with Terri to see if the dr can give a letter to Dr. Pesto to rush your surgery along. It might do some good. Those Z-Packs work wonders. I swear by them! Those things will get in there and kill those bugs. Make sure to spray lysol around the house to for killing the germs. I do that when we are sick and it works. My DH had strep this week and I never got it at all. Suzanne 300/155/150

Angie I am so sorry that you are having a hard time with your insurance and surgery. I agree with Terri have your neuro doctor send a letter to Pesta office to see if they can fit you on the surgery schedule due to your back problems. Plus I was thinking regarding your insurance payment can you send it by western union or UPS or DHL which are delivery services which will delivere it on Monday so you will have coverage. Plus your HR can tell the insurance company to make the effective date Monday so you will have benefits. My old employer did that for me when I needed to have surgery on an emergent basis so I would not loose my coverage. I will be praying for you that you will start feeling better and be able go forward with your surgery and your benefits straighten out really soon. Hugs Tricia

Angie, Hang in there. I fully understand what you are going threw. My surgery was delayed 3 times because my surgerion put me on a combination of pills for stomach acid pre surgey however when I filled the script they gave me a substitue for one of the pills and the combination caused my biliruben to go sky rocket. The first time it was delayed they called me right when i was getting ready to do the bowel prep and said to hold off. Then the 2nd time I was actually in the or holding 5 mintues from going in and they came in and said the biliruben was still high and I had to see a specialist. Well the 3rd time was a charm. This all happened in a matter of just a couple of weeks. While it is not a serouis as your situation I hope it helps to know that even though I went threw all the crap for a couple weeks, I got threw and you will to. DONT GIVE UP! I am now 2 months post op and feel better than I ever have! I will say a prayer for you tonight. Trent
