DENIED

As I stated four hours ago my doc called and said ins wanted letter explaining Y no W/L drugs had been prescribed. Well I just got the letter stating I was Denied. The letter go as follows " While there is documentation of medically surpervised dieting in the last year with diet faliure after after 12 mounths and other requirements for bariatric surgery are met, there is no documentation of weight loss management that includes PHARMACOTHERAPY." I feel like crying although I thought I was prepared for this. I have worked so hard. Any body, somebody please help

Tenecia: Have your doctor write the letter....It may be that simple...Have him explain why he/she has not put you on Pharmacotherapy... Have him write a stronger letter in support of you having WLS... Dont give up...Fight, fight, fight....That is what you must do.....do not take no for an answer.. I will pray for you that God give your PCP the right words to put down on your behalf.. Rae

Do not give up!!!! It is just a minor set back. This is important to you and you will make it happen! Just have your doc write another letter explaining why pharmacotherapy was not used. Simple as that. Then move on to your approval. It WILL happen! Janet
