I viewed the boards for a while but was afraid to join until now. I just jumped on this ship. Made a list of WL attempts for my doctor. Now I wait to hear from her. From what I read, waiting is something I'm going to have to get used to. I hear BCN is difficult to deal with. I'm scared. I haven't told a sole I'm barking up the WLS tree. Not even my DH. I won't even tell him until I know for sure if I'm approved. He thinks I should just jump on a treadmill and all will fine with the universe. I've gained 120# since we met. My marriage is affected by my weight. We're not close anymore. My biggest fear is having complications from surgery and leaving my children w/o a mom.

Hi Dee Dee, Welcome to the Michigan board. The waiting can be a hard thing but it is worth it. Since I'm still preop I can't help with much that happens after surgery. I can help with the wait. It took me over a year to get the approval. Most of that was because it wasn't a benefit until the first of this year. Jeanne

Hi all. I too am new to this. I just had my PCP fax my ins. co. to get a referral to go see the surgeon. Waiting is gonna be a big part of this as I can already see. My ins. is HAP, and they drag their feet from what I hear. I hope all goes well. I also haven't told many about my decision, just in case things don't go well. I am positive that I can do this and will wait as long as I have to, but hopefully it will go faster than I expect. Wish me luck.

Hi Dee Dee I too have bcn and had dr. Webber. They are tough to go through, and you will end up going all the way through the appeals process to the in person appeal, but after that they will approve you. It took me a year to get approved. I also had dr. Webber, he is wonderful, i just can't say enough about how great he is. He is a very busy man though, so write down everything you need to talk to him about when you have your appointments. He helped me through the appeals too, he gets very close to his patients. good luck to you Hugs Linda
