To do or not to do another revision!!!

That is the BIG question that is driving me nuts right now. I have had my TT and all but my scar is horrible. I hate it. No one sees it but me and my hubby unless I wear my bathing suit but you would think that my scar would be ALOT nicer than it is. I did have my TT with a Plastic Surgeon and I did have a revision on a LARGE dogear and small dogears at the end of both hip incisions but the incision from the middle of my breast to the end is horrible and the scar around my belly button is just down right ugly. My hubby thinks I am crazy but you go through all this and you have a TT and all thinking you will at least look good and here you have a scar that makes you look like someone just opened you up and sewed you back up without much thought! I don't know, maybe I am just being vain! But now that I can wear a two piece I would like people to see it and not the ugly scar from top to bottom! Lord I really think I am being to vain and should just be happy with what I have!

Tami, I know exactly how you feel. We've talked about this before. I had my revision too, and I still am not real happy...my scar is fine, and the "puff" is much better, but I'm still not happy with my hip areas, especially the right one. I don't know if that was her fault or if I just needed lipo, but I feel she could have gone a little further with the incision and get some of that...just my opinion, but I'm not a plastic surgeon. Anyway, my opinion is, if you're not happy, get a revision, but I'd go somewhere else at this point, to see what they have to say. Dr. Ellen sounds great. Best of luck! Theresa P.S. call me or email me if you'd like to talk!

Well you have seen the revision on my belly button so you know how bad it looks. It actually looked better before I had my revision. The scar is really ugly now. I just don't know who to see. I don't want to travel for ever again. I wish we had someone who was closer. The followup visits are a bother when you have to travel so far. I don't know what to do!!!!

Hey Tami, You should check out Dr. DiNick again, He is now only in Ypsilanti now though until his new office is ready, but you can get in much quicker now. You should come to group tommorrow and we can compare scares....LOL. Take care----Toni

Yeah, DeNick is supposed to be good too, as Toni said. I was hoping to go to the Bay City meeting tomorrow night, so if you want to go, let me know and I can pick you up! I know how you feel though....YOU have to be happy, and revisions don't really hurt too much, and if it's covered, I'd go for it!! I'll help out driving with you to appts. if you decide to do it! Email me! Hugs my friend! Theresa

I'm going to have my tummy tuck on March 23rd. The Doctor said I might end up without a belly button since my hernia is right there. I asked if he wasn't going to make me a new one. He said he wouldn't promise; that it would depend on how healthy the tissue is there. He said that in 80 to 90 percent of the cases, he can make a new one; but he would compromise the success of the surgery over a belly button. I've been feeling bad about it; but a friend said I should have one tatooed after I'm all healed up. That sounds better than all the trouble you guys are going through. I might get it pierced also. LOL Can't you tell I'm nervous. Going crazy already.

With all of the trouble I have had with mine, I often wish I had elected to go without. My doc says 50% have healing problems with the bb. I am almost 8 weeks post and still have to keep a constant pad on it from the weeping it does. When it first started leaking I was soaking 2-3 of the overnight, sanitary napkins a night. I had to sleep on towels for a month. I did not have a good time. I would not be too distressed if you end up without one.

Thanks everyone! I am afraid that I will end up without one if I have a revision because there is not much left to this one now.
