My Gastric Bypass Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday 2/21/06 at Bi-County Hospital. jump: I went to my consult with Dr. Pesta and he told me I need the GreenField Filter (if anyone can give me as much info as possible that would be great) I have a consult for that wed 2/8 and Dr. Shulman puts the filter in on thur 2/9 at Bi-County. Does any one know where this filter goes? and is there a scar? Is it a big one? (My mom wants to know) I am still in shock that the letter I received was my approval it didnt look anything like what I expected. But the surgeon got one too and also got one for another UHC patient. Well I have a pain management appointment today 2/7/06 at 9:45 and I have to get some more sleep I went to bed when I got home from consult at 4:30. I didnt get any sleep for the last two weeks so I am playing catch up. Any feed back will be great. Thank you for your support. Angie

Congrats Angie!! I am so happy that you have a date. Your nerves will work on you for the next couple of weeks but as soon as you wake up from the surgery you will feel so much better. Suzanne 300/155/150

Angie, Praise God as he answers prayer. I am so happy for you. I also will need to get the filter put in once I get my surgery date. Dr. Marshall assured me the Dr. that does the procedure is excellent and he does his best to make the pain minimal. Hope to talk to you before your surgery. Take Care!

Congradulations Angie I am so happy that you have your date for surgery. I did not have a greenfield filter when I had surgery but I had a close friend who did and the procedure is painless the worst part is having to lay flat for two hours it protects you from developing blood clots. I am so happy to see that your dreams are coming true and that your surgery is going to be a reality and you will be able to have a new life. Hugs Tricia

Congratulations Angie!!! Yeah, I think time will fly the next two weeks also! I'm sure you'll be a bundle of mixed emotions. I'm really excited with you and for you!! Oh and the greenfiled filter is usually quick and painless during insertion, I've never had one, but assisted with many!
