It Wasn't The Superbowl But....
For me it was one sweet milestone! I found myself on roller blades
this past weekend! Yes me on roller blades!!!! I had a blast. Now mind
you this was one of my goals. I haven't been on skates in many years,
about 20 of them. I was scared to death, and didn't do very well, but
it was still fun. As I was practicing, my son and daughter came up
behind me, each of them took one of my arms and took off so fast. All
they said was come on mom you can do it. The problem was they weren't
watching where they were taking me and I found out just how flexible I
really am. My feet went out from under me I had one leg straight out
in front and the other up under my back. I heard my knee crack, felt
pain in my thigh and yet I some how managed not to break anything. I
actually got up by myself, and the three of us went around the rink a
few times them holding my hands, so I wouldn't fall. We had so much
fun. I can't wait to do it again! I wasn't even sore the next day,
must be from all the walking. Just thought I would share my experience
with you all.
God bless,
Annette
Annette i can so relate to how you feel. When i was young i speed skated, could do every trick under the sun. Well in 2002 my neice had her birthday party at the skating rink, and i wanted to skate. When i tried, the wheels kept clicking cause i was too heavy, i couldn't even stand up....i was so bummed for so long.
So in December my girls wanted to have their birthday parties at the rink, and i let them. I put the skates on, and off i went, just like when i was young..i was so happy and had so much fun, only falling once. I skated the most that day, and when we all went home everyone of them was sore, but not me. we now go once a month at least, it's great exercise.
I'm glad you had such a great time, may there be many more wow moments ahead for you.
Hugs
Linda
Hin Toni,
Life is good! At least getting better. What a difference a year or two makes. It wasn't that long ago that all I did, all day long, day in and day out was to lay on the couch, because I could'nt move without hurting so much. I can't wait to see what the next year will bring.
God bless you,
Annette
