All I took was the clothes I was wearing (very comfortable for the ride home) a robe, my toothbrush and deoderant. You will be wearing the latest in hospital fashion for 2 or 3 days and wont need anything else. Of course they always want you to bring ID and your insurance card but that went home with my hubby. No jewelry, he just brought my ring back the next day.

I took my pillow from home...can't sleep without it and was glad I did. I also took some headphones so I could have the TV on at night and not disturb anyone....helped me sleep or kept me occupied when I was awake in the night. They plugged right into the bed. But the best thing I took was a small, tabletop/personal fan. That was a lifesaver. I would get flush and felt like I was burning up, but I wasn't running a fever. I was so glad I had that fan. I don't even know why I thought about packing it. I didn't need the few toiletries I brought. The hospital provided them. I didn't use the robe I brought or the slippers as they gave me slipper socks. I also took my cell phone. It was nice to be able to call my hubby after hours, when I was feeling bad. He was at a nearby hotel and they were strict with visiting hours. Good luck! Tina

Hi Sandra, I didn't use most of what I took with me. You may want to take the following items: 1. Chap stick 2. Slip on slippers. 3. Your own pillow 4. Hair brush/comb 5. Tothbrush/paste 6. Pads/tampax 7. A magazine 8. Hand lotion You may want to take your own robe, I took mine but didn't use it. The IV. and stuff makes it more of a bother than a help. Best wishes on your big day. It will be here before you know it. God bless you Annette

Most important is don't forget your pillow(s) for the ride home. The roads are rough but even worse after surgery. I had a 3 hour drive and my hubby (packed) me in for the ride. Gotta have one to hug also!
