Pop?
You said: "kp @ goal, self-righteous, rude, blunt, smarta$$, trouble maker, self-proclaimed somethin or other, the list goes on but in the end I am at goal. I got there with the non -exploding pouch, sans-tenderizer and pop, walking my fat-a$$ all over hell and back bad attitude I have."
And that's why we love you!
Oh yeah.. and please add: Bariatric Shuffle King to the list, ok?

If we were talking about, let's say a recovering heroin addict who was thinking about honkin a spliff, would we not say going back to bad habits?
It's not as "bad" as horse but it can feed the addictive personality that may have brought us here to begin with.
I dunno, I think we can easily slip into these little cracks if we are not careful.

FOR YOU. she never drank soda and now drinks diet soda which some of the best surgeons in the field say is fine. to say she's going back to old habits is a judgement that's not based on what she said but on someone else's experience. if it's a bad habit FOR YOU, then good for you for avoiding it but to start blasting into someone else and calling your bad habits theirs would be wrong. (which you didn't do which was why, as i said, i was not addressing you.)
For you it might be a bad habit that brings you back to other things that are bad for you, but i know a couple of people who are two and five years out and are at or below goal and they drink diet soda with no problems and no returns to bad habits. But i'm not going to judge you based on their experience and call you out in public, try to make you feel bad and tell you that you're messing up.
and btw, educate a new yawker.. isn't "pop" short for "soda pop"?
pop=soda=soda-pop=carbonated soft drinks such as Coke or Mountain Dew.
For Me????!?!?!?? You shouldn't have!!! I and I didn't get you anything!!!
I will take Carole' opinion any day. She is a nurse and a damn good one and one who has gone through the process and can run rings around me to boot.
The caffine present in many pop=soda=soda-pop=carbonated soft drinks such as Coke or Mountain Dew products offers an addictive element. If diet isn't availiable what do we do when we have a hankerin for that Moon Juice?? Get the regular and justa sip cause a sip won't hurt nobody, shucks!! When we figure out that we can tolerate a sip then it's a gulp then a big gulp and here we have it -a tolerance to sugar agian. The exact reason we had Dr. ? cut us open and fix our chitlins is now null and void. We can develop a tolerance for the bad stuff. The only way to do that is to start somewhere. When Ashy Charlie first tried crack his intention was not to become addicted. He just wanted a cheap high. Addiction came with it though.
I don't know about you but I am not willing to take that risk. I remember my entire hospital stay and the months following with all the nausea and vomiting and dumping and bowel obstructions and I don't want that to be for nothing.
I hope in five years I am still small. But that's up to me and the choices I make. I don't think anybody jumped on ayone. I just think strong opinions were given.

I read it and don't think she was putting anyone down.
Some come here for support and some come for sympathy and others just like to see what's simmerin on the front burner today.
Me? I have no idea why I keep showing up. It takes up too much time. How am I ever going to get my Big Mac blended up let alone be able to sip it through my straw?
You're not a nurse? I would have never guessed otherwise.
Tell me,,, what is it you do?
I wear many hats.

talking about going back to bad habits and needing to be scared seems like a putdown/judgement to me. how did she/you know if it's caffeinated? did you ask or just assume?
i have a degree in business but i've spent most of my life working with computers in a support capacity. not that it's relevant to this thread other than i specialize in the field of logic and troubleshooting (i.e. i try very hard to avoid judging based on anything not clearly stated or previously known.)
