Pop?

ya know it's not a bad habit for everyone. some people actually just drink it once in a great while. I don't see the big deal if it's a diet soda and it's only every now and then. Now for the people who drink it every day, i can see where it's a bad habit. But you're replying to someone who said they didn't like it before surgery so i don't see how it can be "going back" to a bad habit. It's also not on every surgeon's list of "no nos". some surgeons say it's okay in moderation.

Hi Jay You and Kevin know how to spice up the board. Gotta love it. The problem here is, she is drinking it every day. Even though she's not going back to an old habit, she is developing a new one. That can't be good for the pouch or the teeth. Take care. God bless you, Annette

Don't you see? It is not about the pop! It is about a bad habit of making bad choices. I read the posts everyday. "I dumped yesterday, because I ate a piece of pie", "I know I should exercise, but I don't". The list goes on of excuses that people use why they make bad choices. She stated that she knew it was a bad choice, and that someone told her it was a no-no, but she did it anyway. To the original poster, thank you for posting this, as it brings out in the open that we all make bad choices sometimes, but we just do not have the courage that you had to bring them to the board. Do not let these posts discourage you. Jay, You are right, everything in moderation, but if I said I was going to go out and just do a little bit of heroin, even though I have never done it, but I can handle it. WE ARE ADDICTS! A little bit of anything that is old habit can destroy our new lives. Maybe I should not have responded, because like I said, it caught me on a bad day. I will go to bed now. And Kevin, I think you are neat too. Thanks, I needed that. Carol

i don't want to argue but i can find no solid evidence that diet soda is bad for the teeth or the pouch. or that it compares to heroin (!) or even pie/lack of exercise.

wow wee I never expected this type of response....I never said I drank regular sugared up pop...I do usually have 1 glass a day and it is iced down I like the flavor but it is sugar free so is crystal lite and so is it just the bubbles that are the problem because otherwise sugar free is sugar free wether it be tea or crystal lite if we are drinking it ...I drink a ton of water and juices but the glass of pop is just once a day I was worried about the bubbles not the habbit... Anything can become a habbit even crystal lite if we are going to those extremes....We are still normal people here and I just wondered if I could do physical harm....sorry to heat everybody up... the great thing about WLS is we're all different and what works for one person might not work for another. for me, heroin works. I'm just kidding.

In what form? If we had that problem we probably wouldn't be on this board anyway. Being a hype makes you have that stealthy look! kp @ goal

It's what got us here. I didn't find myself 370 lbs because odf any other reason than myself - bad habits. They are gone now and I'm cool with it. kp @ goal, self-righteous, rude, blunt, smarta$$, trouble maker, self-proclaimed somethin or other, the list goes on but in the end I am at goal. I got there with the non -exploding pouch, sans-tenderizer and pop, walking my fat-a$$ all over hell and back bad attitude I have.
