I do drink pop on a occaisional basis the sugar free and caffine free Pop. I was told by my surgeon office that it helps with gas bubbles and so forth and they were right. I have gas build up I sip on Diet whatever and I have instant relief and it feels great. Tricia

I am posting this reply without even reading the others,,,yet. Let's see how much trouble I can get into!!!! I do not drink pop. I used to but it is off limits now. My pouch won't explode, my eyes won't pop out or anything else like that. It's just a bad habit. A link to a former life that I never want to go back to. I made the choice and that is how it will be. Ok kids!!! Fire away!!! kp @ goal

That's the only time you can drink pop, and only if it's meat you have stuck. Remember just a pinch of meat tenderizer to 1 cup of pop. IT MUST BE DRANK SLOWLY, OR YOU COULD VOMIT AND THEN YOUR POUCH WILL DEFINITELY EXPLODE!!!! God bless you, Annette

I am with Kevin on this one, I must respond. Pop will not make your pouch explode, but it is on the list of no-no's post op. Why did anybody put there lives at risk, and ask a surgeon to use their skill, and pray to God that they live through it all and THEN go back to a very bad habit. I read this over and over again on this board that we push ourselves to the limit of what we know we should not be doing post op. You should be scared, as you are thinking about going back to bad habits, and that is more frightening to me than my pouch exploding. You caught me on a bad day, sorry, that is my opinion. Carol
