Lots of Gurgling!

I am 3 weeks post-op and I have lots of gurgling and grumbling going on inside me. It feels like there is a bunch of air inside me and I feel like I want to burp all the time. Is this normal???? It gets to be very annoying sometimes. Please advise. Thanks.

That is a lovely side efeect that does not ever really go away. It gets better, but it will always happen. My husband has the loudest stomach I have ever heard. His never shuts up and he is two years post op. Mine is not nearly as bad. You will get used to it. It is one of those things that becomes just a part of life.

Yup! Terri is correct! Welcome to the sound of Bariatric!!! My surgeon told me it's because your food is digesting in the intestines now instead of the stomach! We just got a new puppy, "well she is a stray who adopted us", my tummy made the worst gurgle and groan and she looked at me like I was an alien. Was good for a laugh!

Jacalyn~I was about 6 weeks out when I had to take my daughter to the doctor...we were LAUGHING so hard while waiting for the doctor cuz my stomach was SO NOISY!!!! I was so embarassed when the doctor came in and she was trying to talk to me and my stomach was trying to answer her!! My daughter and I just couldn't help but laugh!! It was an interesting visit to say the least!!! Things have calmed down quite a bit since then...it still happens but doesn't seem to be as much or as loud as it was!!! Hang in there!! Hugs, Cheryl
