OT "michigan left"

Can someone please explain or link me to an explanation of this "left on red" stuff. I keep seeing cars turning left on red lights while doing a "michigan left." signed, One confused new yawker.

Jay, If I'm right the law that allows us to turn right on a red light, states that you can turn LEFT onto a one way street on red also, after coming to a complete stop. Jeanne

ya know considering these unique laws you'd think i'd have had to take a test or something before they let me trade my FL license in for a MI one! :D well at least for once I'M the traffic hazard, not like in FL. hahaha.

In Michigan, it's legal to turn left on red, when turning from a one way street onto another one way street. Beth

i can't turn left at the intersection but i can go past it and run a light? lol. gotta love it. why do i not feel safer?

You are from Florida. You can drive anyway you want just like in Florida. Speed imits don't mean anything here except on the Lodge - it's 90 miles an hour or greater except when the wind is out of the east then it's 95. The only rule that applies is always drive the wrong way in a parking lot and old men with hats have the right-of-way. kp @ goal

When I moved here from PA in 1988, the first thing I was told was: Drive 75mph on I-94 and 94mph on I-75. That's how I get to work in 5 minutes.

I was born in the Bronx, lived there till i was 4, lived in Suffern till i was 8 and then Delmar (right outside Albany****il i was 18. In Florida i've lived mostly around West Palm Beach in Wellington, Boynton Beach and 2 years in Deerfield Beach. where are you from?
