Hi Kimberley, Congratulations on getting your date. The worst part of my surgery, was the I.V. They couldn't get it in because I was dehydrated. The nurse tried to put it in my wrist and ended up putting it in my foot. DO NOT LET THEM PUT THE I.V. IN EITHER OF THOSE PLACES!!! I had a minor compilcation, when my surgeon cut into my stomach there was a seroma, he had trouble getting the bleeding to stop~but he did get it stopped. I ended up in surgery for five hours. I have two regrets, The first one is that I didn't have this done sooner (even though I tried for many years,on and off). My second regret is that I wasn't prepared to hit a 6 week long plateau just a month post-op. I became very discouraged about it. Be prepared! Plateaus can start as early as a week to 10 days post -op. I am about 2 1/2 months out. This is one of the best thing I have done for myself!!! I already feel so much better. I can walk unaided. Just six months ago I spent my days sitting or laying on a couch all day long. I never left the house except to go to the Dr. office, and sometimes to the grocery store. I couldn't walk more than two minutes at a time without stopping to rest. Now I walk between 3 to 6 miles a day. I have energy, I feel great. You will too. It's normal to be afraid. Just put it in The Lord's hand's. He will bring you through this. You are in my prayers. Hope this helps. God bless you, Annette
