Clalralee - welcome to the board! There's a good bunch of people on here!! You'll get lots of responses, but I will tell you I took too much with me. Instead od spending time in bed reading - I walked as much as I could and wound up not reading any of my books. I took my own pj's with me - and never ended up putting them on. I did take my own pillows and used them - they smelled like home which was nice . I also took a pair of slippers that were "grippy" (is that a word??) on the bottom, which helped with the walking. Jeani V Good luck!!!

HI Claralee, One thing I would suggest is to take everything unscented. Deodorant, shampoo etc. Many have post-op nausea and things that smelled great before will make you want to barf. Though this doesn't happen to all you could be one of the lucky ones. So I say, "Better safe than sorry". I found a robe helpful also to hide that "Southern exposure". Good luck! Patt

Hi Claralee, Welcome to the Michigan board. You won't need much at the hospital. 1. Chap stick 2. Slip on slippers 3. Hair brush/comb 4. Toothbrush/paste 5. Feminine hygiene products (just to be safe) 6. A book/magazine 7. Your own pillow You can bring your own P.J.'s and robe, but most people don't want to mess with putting it on, the I.V. just get's in the way and makes it hard and uncomfortable. Best wishes on your surgery. God bless you, Annette

Hi Claralee I took a robe, chapstick, slippers and some books which i never looked at. Are you having your surgery open or lap? Where at? I am also from pontiac, maybe we can get together sometime? Good luck on your surgery. Hugs Linda 360/170/?
