1st day back to work

Today was the big day - the first day back at work. Some people noticed a difference in my face, one person asked outright if I had the surgery, and several others who knew said "I looked great" with that "Sh*t - I can't tell the difference but hate to admit it look on their face. Oh well. One thing at a time. And it is still early yet. I did managed to go down one full bra size this morning so that was a plus. Isn't it funny how different body areas lose the weight differently? I've lost so much in my face, neck and waist. Yet it isn't coming off my hinny/thighs at the same rate. As a consequence, I spent much of today apologizing that my pants were falling down - knowing I'm just a hair away from moving to the smaller size due to uneven shrinkage. If it weren't for protein bars, I would not have made it through the day. I was so backed up on email that I ended up working a 10 hour day. So, I'm pooped. Missed ya'll today - would have loved to play on the board but it was just not going to happen given the work load. I've killed my energy stores today so it is nighty nite for moi. Best, Michele P

Wow Michele, 10 hours the first day! Whew! I'm waiting for the day when someone asks if I had "THE surgery". I have a busy body at church that is also Ms. Bucket mouth. She asked me HOW I lost my weight and I just smiled and said, high protein - low carb. Bucket mouths don't need details. Those that know me well enough know, those that don't know me...... oh well. On the uneven weight, remember you will "pause" somewhere so it can redistribute...... or so I'm told. Remember... MICHELE FIRST! You need to keep up your res****er, protein and health! Michele I think you are doing great. Also I think there will come a time where it won't matter about people asking you about the surgery. I was very stand offish at first at first. Now I am completely okay with it. The bra part made me laught. I bought a new bra today that was a size 38B. I used to be a 46DD. I lost my cleavage!!! It is sad in a way but now I am the same size as my mother. LOL I always joked about how I loved having bigger boobs than her! LOL Weird how things do lose more than others. I would be happy with just a C cup now. ROFLMAO Have fun, and just let it come you will enjoy this as time goes on. Keep up the great work!!!! =) Suzanne 300/157/150

Hi Michele! I'm losing my weight "unevenly" as well. Most noticeable in my face, arms and legs, and although I've lost 5 inches in my waist so far, not much has come off there or in my hips or "love handles!" I haven't gone down a bra size yet, but I had to tighten up the straps a bit. Plus I think I've hit my first plateau... only lost one pound last week and I think that's cause I didn't have my shoes on when I weighed myself!! Don't overwork yourself too much.. I started back to work part-time for one week and have been full-time the last 2 weeks. I'm still pooped at night though. Take care, Beth

People at work can be a pain @ times. At my job they call the surgery "the Epidemic". I just ignore the comments. But yes of course they noticed you dropping the pounds!!!Take your time with and continue to recover...... DIVA

Michele, today was my first day back to work and I know exactly how you feel. Didn't it feel like everyone was looking at you from head to toe! Not to many people knew what I was going in for until the day after my surgery the word got out. I guess we just have to show them what we are made of and they will really be looking at us before you know it with envy!!!
