Looking for a new PCP

Hi my fellow Michiganders I was wondering if there was any one who live in the Detroit area that has BCN and has a Dr. that understands the weightloss journey? He can't use pharses (sp) like "will power" and "you just have to try harder" those are tell tell signs that they have no idea what the heck I'm going thru . Can you help me? Rea

You can try my doc, Peter Pashley, he was one of the PCP's that followed patients at BiCounty when I worked there. His office is a hike even for me, but its worth it. When i mentioned WLS to him 2 years ago, he started me on diet pills, had me meet with a nutritionist and all that he thought would be required for approval. I have been back and forth and now that I have made the decision he is supportive. Fortunate for me my insurance I have now required no pre approval and only a letter from the PCP which he submitted to CORI within 1 week of my asking. If you want his number e mail me. Hi Rea First of all, bcn is hell to go through. It took a year and an in person appeal for me to get approved. After that, they've been wonderful. Right now i would call bcn and ask for a case manager....this is actually an RN who helps to guide you and help you with all your needs. They just started doing this. She can give you names of docs in detroit who are supportive. If there is anything else i can do to help you, just let me know. Hugs Linda
