Homeless student in need of clothes!
Hey everyone! I haven't posted in so long - I don't often have time to read - but we got an email at work today that I really had to respond to. The text of that email follows:
Today, we had a student approach the nurse's office hungry and in need of clothes. He is homeless and has been living out of a car.
With the help of his counselor and the health aide, he has been signed up for the homeless program. He is in desparate need of clothes.
He wears a size 3x - 4x top, 38-40 slacks and 13 1/2 - 14 shoe.
If you would like to donate clothing or a cash donation, please see his counselor, Ms. Leak or Ms. Hines, health aide for further information.
Your assistance is most appreciated.
I was hoping some of my friends back in Michigan might be able to help this kid. I emailed his counselor and we may be able to take up a small collection to pay for the shipping to have a box of clothes sent down to Nevada...
Email me if you think you can help at [email protected].
Thank you all!!!
Hugs,
Jules
Hi Heather,
I have been so busy with work and on top of that, I have decided to go back to school and apply for medical school next year . It is really good to hear from you too...been out-of-touch with my WLS family lately. I usually have time every couple of days to read, but don't often get a chance to add anything new. I remember the days of having young children and can relate to your situation. Mine is 12, going on 25 soon...lol.
I hope that you are doing well in all aspects of your life!! I gained some weight while I was not exercising for a few months because of back pain, but since I had a panniculectomy a couple months ago, I have started to exercise again and did lose that weight again. I still want to lose another 16 pounds to get to normal BMI, but am taking it a day at a time and just trying to make healthy choices.
Write back when you get a chance, I find your life and journey so interesting.
