Healthier but still a clutz!

Yesterday afternoon I was walking out of my own front door (which is not the way I usually leave the house) and I missed a step and twisted my ankle. I thought for sure I broke it since I heard a snap. Long story short, I didn't break it but I did tear the tendons so now I have an aircast. Which, in my opinion, is much better than a plaster cast since I can take it off to sleep, shower, etc. At the hospital they gave me vicodan which helped with the pain for about 45 minutes and then I got this awful stomach ache. I was in the car on the way home at this point so I called CCWL and they said vicodan does that and I should take it with prevacid. I took the next dose with prevacid but it still hurt. So no more vicodan for me. Anyone else have the same trouble? I'm thinking I will take a muscle relaxer now for the pain since I know from experience it won't hurt my pouch. Sandra

Sandra, I'm still pre-op but just as much a clutz. This morning as I was leaving for work I slid on something on the floor and landed smack on my good knee. I don't think I did anything to it but there will be a HUGE black and blue mark. I'm writing this with an ice pack on it. Jeanne

Sandra, Did you take your vicodin with food. Usually I don't get the pain if I have a couple of crackers just before I take it. I will get bad pains if I don't eat something before hand. Sorry you are having such problems. I know what you mean about being a clutz. I fell the day before thanksgiving and broke my wrist. I am still in a cast & he said it could take up to 6 months to heal. Peggy

Hey Peggy! Sorry to hear about your wrist! I have my TT scheduled with Dr. Schuhknecht on February 23... you know he's at St. John Riverview now... so will go there... and he's moving into his new office at 13 Mile/Van Dyke the 2nd week of March, so will follow up there. He said if I keep working out, he didn't think I needed my underarms done, but definitely will need my inner thighs done down the road. Good to see you again! Nancy Bontumasi
