Hello All you wonderful p...
Hello All you wonderful people,
Well I have changed weight loss surgery centers from the Cori Center and Liv Lite in warren. And that means switching from Harper Hospital to Henry Ford - Bi County Hospital. It was a hard decision but already seems to be the right choice. I had started to pursue surgery with Cori on the second week of December 2005. I think the fact that it was near xmas it didnt help for the process to move smoothly doctors and doctors office's get too lax and take a lot of time off. So as of yesterday the only progress made was that my chart was in the hands of cori. First I would like to say that AMY Dr Wood's insurance specialist has a great pesonality and I am sad to not be working with her. I know that she had no control over the problems and lack of progress it was not her fault and It was a pleasure the things she did teach me!!!! I am going to miss talking to her, but I could not pay $350.00 for just psch eval and nutrition eval and then possibly be told by the doctor he would not do sugery untill I loose 40 to 50lbs. I have tried for three years to loose even 25lbs on a 1000 cal diet and have not lost more than 11 lbs. I have to have a surgeon willing to do surgery on me the way I am , I spent three days in Bon Secour Hospital and was told my a neuro surgeon that if I dont have GB surgery real soon I could be paralyzed from the spinal and nerve damage. I need this surgery NOW AND LIV LITE was on the ball today I went to a meeting with Marjorie (wonderful lady) she took a ton of info, sent it to her main head quarters and then even faxed over the request for my chart to my PCP then sent me to hospital for lab work. Then I went to my PCP to bring a set of forms she needs to fill out and fax over to Marjorie they said they already had fax and my two huge charts will be faxed tomorrow 1/26/06 and the pcp form will be faxed too. I then went to a Liv Lite support group meeting where Big Will who is the biggest looser (weight loss that is ) I have ever met or heard of he lost 333 lbs in two years!!! I started crying when he told his story. He is such an inspiring man he made me want the new life even more and I didnt think that was possible. I have my nutrition eval next wed 2/4/06 and then that night the Liv Lite informational seminar and get to meet the two wonderful surgeons who the post op patients raved about all night tonight. Then I go to a presurgical class and then my consult with surgeon and I am told that is when I get my date YEAAAAAAAAA!!!! I am counting the hours to that day when I can say I am approved I am anxious and just plane silly about the idea of having my surgery done by the end of Feb 06. I am going to work so hard to get every thing done as quick as possible Please pray for me. I want to get this tool I so deserve and have a second chance at life. I want to change the world and be able to help others in so many ways once I am able to walk good again and go back to school I want to be a nurse or grade school teacher. I have so many goals for after my surgery!!!! I want to help the world. Any Liv Lite patients please give feed back, advice tell my how it was for you and how long it took to get your surgery date, Tell me how the doctors Dr Pesta and Dr. Marshall are? How is Bi- County Hospital? Any info good bad and the ugly please be up front honest and let me have all details. I am sorry to have written so much but for once since before my first denial three years ago I feel like its going to be me on the other side and I have faith in god above that he will give this to me.
I know I have will to change my life style and to be a great success like the millions of others on here who I read about and applaud every day!!!
Please god let me be a big looser I want this so bad I want to be diabetes free, edema free, asthma free, djd in both knees free, have my back surgery and knee surgery and have a new life I want to stop wearing clothes with x's after the big number and go into a size large that is my dream to wear something smaller that is not above a 16 I would be grateful to be a size sixteen. Not looking to be skinny just healthy!!!!!!
Thanks for listening hope to get lots of feed back Cant wait to hear from all of you!!!!!!

Angie~ Looks like you've got your angel in Sue!! As far as Liv Lite, Bi-county and the dr's go...I think you are in the right place!!! I had Dr. Marshall and I LOVE him!!! From the time I stepped foot into Liv-Lite until the day of my surgery was like a month to a month and a half!! I can't remember the first day I went to Liv-Lite...it was either June or July and I had my surgery August 19!!! To be honest with you, I would have NEVER gone to Bi-county before...I've always heard bad stuff about that hospital...BUT...I had confidence in Dr. Marshall and I had absolutely no worries about going there!!! They have the bariatric friendly rooms and the nurses were wonderful!! I highly recommend Dr. Marshall for your surgeon!! Good luck with everything and keep us posted...your time is coming sweetie!!! The gals at Liv-Lite can make it happen!!!!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Well I worked at Bi County three years up until 2004, At the time that I worked there Dr Wood was there and training Drs. Pesta, Marshall, and Tomita. I know they have recently made the hospital more WLS surgery friendly with the suites etc. Hopefully they have done more training sensitivity and otherwise with their nurses. Its great that its working out better for you at Liv-Lite.
