Lost 6 more lbs - gave up on the bike tire licking...
Sorry to have been MIA for the last week but I did lurk several times. Just didn't have anything to update.
I'm trying to get ready for the big move to the east side of the state and had stuff to take care of to get ready for that. Looks like we will end up in Brighton.
Went to my PCP today - she hasn't seen me post surgery. (Actually, my insurance doesn't require a referral from her for the surgery so I didn't tell her I was doing it. I hated the thought she might be against it so just didn't go there.)
She could not believe I had done it without telling her but I said "Dr. So&So - if I didn't need your approval to get it, why on earth would you have wanted to have to write a letter about it?!" She laughed at that. She was so excited about how much weight I'd lost since my last visit that she laughed until she had tears in her eyes. That was way cool.
And in another cool WLS moment - I just showed my husband my before picture on the computer, full screen, in an IPhoto slide show to "All you ever do is bring me down" (meant to refer to the weight, not him) and he said - "Wow - You really have changed a lot. Your clothes fit a lot better. You look more like girl I danced with that first night."
He doesn't notice it normally as he sees me every day and the changes are more gradual to him. Actually, I've had to fend off his advances since he saw the comparison. I guess that is a good thing?
So - sorry to have missed you all- but I'm feeling great. And I've given up on the rusty bike tire liquid iron. I can't do it. I just can't. I go willing to have surgery but I can't take one lousy teaspoon of this stuff. Go figure.
So I went to the Walgreens and *begged* the pharmacist to help me. She found me the tiniest little iron tablets and told me which type would be most absorbable. God bless her forever.
How have ya'll been?
Best,
Michele P
