ANOTHER SURGERY
Don't know if I had told you guys that I broke my wrist the day before Thanksgiving. I did a number on it, but then again I'm not real good a doing things half way. I went in last Thursday thinking that I would get the cast off. I guess technically I did get that cast off, but when he x-rayed it he said it wasn't quite ready to be without the cast, so I got a new one. By the time this one comes off it will have been 11 weeks. He said this type of break can take up to 6 months to heal. While there he went over my bone scan that I had done the week before for my knees. I will be having my right knee redone on the 30th of this month. He hopes to only have to replace the plastic parts (the knee cap and the tibial spacer) he will also try to clean out all of the scar tissue that has built up and try & stretch the tendons & muscle. He says there is a lot of blood in the joint & he isn't sure what is causing it. I guess he will find out when he gets in there.
I thought that WLS would be the end to those kinds of surgery, but I guess arthritis stops for no one or no reason. I will be having the surgery in Petoskey at Northern Michigan Hospital. I will be in for at least 3 days and if there is ANYONE in the area I sure would love to have some visitors. Even though NMH is closer home for me than Detroit, it is still an hour and a half away & that leads to very few visitors.
