How long between WLS and TT?

I'm wondering how long people have waited between having wls and their tummy tuck and/or other plastic surgery. I am only 7 months out but I am researching doctors and procedures. I thought I read somewhere (or it's possible I made it up!) that you have to have maintained your goal weight for a period of time before you can have the TT. Is this true? Other experiences/advice would be appreciated! Sandra

I waited until I was almost 2 years out for mine. I wanted to be within 10 lbs. of my personal goal. I would reccomend you be as close to goal as possible. You don't want to go through the TT, lose more weight and then have sagging... even if mild. You'll be paying good money to look your best!

Every surgeon has their own requirements. Most require a loss of at least 100 lbs. Some require you to be 1 year out, some dont care how far out you are. All just depends on who you're going with. Laurie at goal *grins*

I know my insurance has stipulations on how many lbs and how long, but I don't believe my PS cared. I was 16 months out and down 120lbs when I had my consult. I was and still am several pounds away from my doctors goal, but the PS said that even if I lost the rest it would not make a difference in my TT. When you loose weight you loose it all over your body and not just in your tummy. If you aren't planning on insurance paying for it then I think it is just a personal choice on when to have it done. Good Luck!

525600 minutes. Also a loss of 100 pounds is a mark for lipectomy. Hurts like hell and gives you a whole new appreciation for sweat pants. kp @ goal
