In spite of trying exceptionally hard not to, I have managed to catch my twin's cold. My surgery is scheduled for Monday morning. Will they still be able to do the surgery? I'm very upset about the timing and keep drinking fluids and popping vitamin C every chance I get. Chele

Chele - that will be up to Dr. Wood. I would call them today if I were you. Hopefully, he'll check back with you on Sunday to verify you're in good condition for the surgery. I know it will be heartbreaking if you have to reschedule... but just remember that it's in YOUR best interest if you do. You don't want pneumonia (sp?) or other problems in the hospital. Let us know, what he says!!! Hugs, Laurie

I plan on calling CORI today ASAP. I believe everything happens for a reason, but it will be extremely disappointing if I have to reschedule being that we have made plans for me to have surgery Monday. Chele

I will assume that all will be a go on Monday for you. I will be praying for you over at Harper while I'm doing the same at Riverview for my hubby! Best prayers for an uneventful surgery!

I went in for my surgery while I had bronchitis. I was at the end of it, but still was pretty sick. The hardest thing is if you have a cough. Coughing is NOT FUN right after this surgery. I had a pretty bad one and had to hug my pillow lots during coughing fits. I would assume that your surgery will still be on, unless you have something really awful (pneumonia, plague...) I hope all goes well for you and good luck Monday! Welcome to the start of an exciting journey!!! Bekki 327/160/150

Hi, I spoke with the nurses at CORI and Harper this morning and I was told that as long as I'm not running a fever, things will be fine. I don't foresee that happening, but if it does then I am to call the hospital and let them know. So far, it's a head cold and seems relatively minor on the severity scale. I have to be at the hospital at 4:30am! I guess I have to leave the house around 2:30-3:00am! I hope I don't run a fever. Chele
