I am so lost. I need some serious help.
I feel like I am losing my mind. For those of you that don't know, let me give a brief desciption of my story. Surgery was June 04. I lost 90 lbs in the first 5 months, then not another pound for one year. Never gained, but didn't lose either. In November of 05, I was rushed to the ER and was told that I had an internal hernia and that my pouch had stretched to a very large size. Okay, had surgery, fixed all of that and it was like another RNY all over. Lost 20 in less than 2 weeks and felt great about it! Now, 4 weeks after that surgery, I have gained every lb of that 20 back. I am averaging about 1 lb per day. What the heck?? I have not changed my eating habits, so I don't know what is going on. And, I feel as if my pouch has stretched again. I have called CORI 6x. On the 6th call, they finally agreed to tell Dr. Kole that I had called. His answer? See a nutritionist and see him in 6 weeks! I am livid! I am scared! Please help!
I would also write down everything that you eat in a food journal. Keep an exercise journal too, even if it's only walking. That way you can show it to the surgeon. If you keep gaining over the next week or so, I'd call and INSIST on being see right away!!! At one pound a day, you'd gain another 42 pounds in the next six weeks. (I'm sure you've already figured that out).
It was my understanding in Cori's presurgery stuff that their pouches don't stretch??? I'm totally confussed now???? Did you have the micropouch done??
I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I KNOW it's hard to stay positive when things start to fall apart - but try to keep your chin up.
Best of wishes to you,
Laurie
