Today, January 19th, 2006, is my 6 month post op anniversary. It has been a wild ride, mostly it's been a journey that's been incredible to see happen. Over the past 6 months I've had to completely adjust my lifestyle and eating habits as you all well know. The one thing I've seen is my lack of interest in food. Period. I have to literally force myself to sit down and "eat". Before surgery, I could eat 24/7!!! I am very thankful that I had a wonderful surgeon and staff, my co-workers being so supportive of me, and most of my friends have just been in awe. About once a month I put new photos of me on my website: www.geocities.com/laurelie36 and people can go see what I looked like before surgery, and what I look like now or presently. It's kind of funny, the emails I get from people. The terminology they use is something new to me. To be called "Marvelous", "skiiny", "foxy chick"....I never heard that before. What it has done for my self esteem is incredible. What it has done for my life, is astonishing. I've lost 73 pounds to date, and I have 31 more to go to hit my goal. I'm hoping to do that by February 14, 2006....and if I do, I'm sending myself two dozen red roses. Thanks to those of you who have become such an inspiration to me, and thanks to this website for allowing me the opportunity to share my story and read about you and many others like me, so that I gain knowledge and udnerstanding in my never ending quest of my NEW LIFE.
