Big breakthrough to ONE-DERLAND!
Hi:
I've been at a stall since August ... have been yo-yoing between 220 and 204. After the holidays, I decided to go back on MMPC supplements (high protein) for two weeks, doing the supplements twice a day and one regular meal. I'm at 10 days now and .... drum roll please .... I have lost 29 pounds. I am now under 200 pounds. One-derland. I haven't been 185 pounds since high school. I am now just 15 pounds from my goal of 170 (although if I lost more I wouldn't be disappointed ... just didn't think I could lose anymore).
When I weighed myself this morning, it explained a lot about how I've been feeling ... I have been extremely lethargic. I haven't been exercising as much as I should because my back has been bothering me, but now that my back feels better, I should be able to get back in the pool. But I've been so tired. And this was exactly how I felt the first week I was on MMPC's supplemented fast. So now I understand why I've been so tired.
But I'm so excited to reach this goal. I started on this journey at 347 (my highest weight was 355) in June 2004.

First of all, EXCELLENT JOB!!! I remember reaching ONE-DERLAND too! Now I'm struggling some, so I'm going to pick your brain....
The MMPC suppliments...I didn't go thru them, but are they basically high protein? What is the serving size? And you did them twice a day, then a regular meal? I thought about doing that with the Atkins drinks twice a day and a regular meal for dinner, hoping that would work. You've done so well! Please email me with any suggestions or pointers of what you've been doing...I would love details!!!! Thanks and congratulations once again! Theresa
The MMPC supplements are from a company called Bariatrix. They are high protein, low-carb meals. There are shakes, jello, fruit drinks, bars, soy nuts chili, soups and spaghetti. I basically liked the chili, spaghetti, cream of tomato soup and bars when I was on the pre-op fast, so that's what I chose. I do a protein shake (not MMPC, AchieveOne Latte, 20 g of protein) in the morning, my main meal about 1 p.m. (I work nights) is usually a frozen meal and a salad; then I have one of the supplements (tonight it's spaghetti ... 15 g of protein) for lunch. I do supplement a bit with protein snacks and veggies and fruit. I cut out all the junk food for a couple of weeks ... no chips, nuts, things like that. I do allow myself some sugar-free candy occasionally (two or three pieces a day). Sometimes my snack is peanut butter; sometimes it's a packet of soy nuts. These supplements can be purchased from the OH store too, but they are more expensive than through MMPC. MMPC charges $7 for a box of 4 packets of chili; $7 for a box of seven bars.
I thought this diet might push me over, but I wasn't expecting this big of a drop. But it explains why I've been so tired. There's very low carbs in these, and I'm sure that has had an affect on my mood.
Hope that helps. E-mail me if you have any more questions.
