PCP HELP

Hello all, its been a while since I have posted. I am in need of some help from my fellow southeast Michiganders. I need a new PCP. The one I currently have is vacillating back and forth with whether she wants to help me obtain this surgery and I am just tired. She has been my doc for over 2 years and I am tired of her snide remarks and ugly comments. Yesterday she said, "I just want you to do this on your own, I have other bariatric patients and they aren't doing so well, in fact I have two that have had HORRIBLE complications and one is even back in the hospital." Can anyone suggest a PCP that is a little more "weight" sensitive. I live in Farmington Hills and would like someone in my neighborhood. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know what insurance you have or how far you're willing to go, but I have 2 drs. that are wonderful and extremely supportive and are top notch drs. Dr. Rebecca Patrias, she's been my PCP for 14 yrs. and has been through SO MUCH with me. She's in Chelsea, though, 734-475-4003. Dr. Aram Minasian, Grand Blanc Adult Medicine. I met him as he does the pre-op exams for my surgeon, Dr. Obeid. He's very perceptive, soft spoken but very candid. 810-665-3949. Hey Girl, How are you doing? Just happen to be reading the MI board and saw your post. Well, I am going to give you the name of my PCP. It is not quite in your neighborhood, but I had no problems with my PCP. Her name is Dr. Sari Vlahakis (female). I mentioned it to her she told me that I qualified from what she could tell and would recommend it to HAP. Two weeks later HAP sent me information and stated that I was approved by what information Dr. Vlahakis had submitted. I still had to pass the Psych Exam, and with my high blood sugar that was all I needed. Just to let you know, if you should go thru Henry Ford, Dr. Vlahakis is the doctor you must see to get your Medical Clearance. If you need any more info, give me a call or email me. Mine is Mathias Weitz - In Oxford - 248 628 2597 - He's about a thousand years old but doesn't act it. Tells you like it is and is very bariatric friendly. He has a bunch of us GAPs and keeps us in line. He has seen the success of the surgery so he knows. Sorry he's not closer maybe he has a second office. kp @ goal

Hi I have a wonderful doc, he did everything to get me approved for my surgery....he has been through everything with me and is just a wonderful man. He is through POH medical center and his name is dr. pirzzada 248-334-4962. He is in pontiac. I see you are having dr. webber doing your surgery, he is a wonderful man and his dietician marty is great too, you'll love them both. I just can't say enough about them. Hello, I chose my PCP at the beginning of this year and she supported the surgery from my first appt. I just had to tell her that this what I really wanted and she did what she had to do on her part. I faxed her ALL my history info, so that she had everything. I don't think you live that far from me. Her office is south of 12 mile.
